# How to port out from Skype

> Step-by-step guide to transfer your phone numbers from Skype to Quo, formerly OpenPhone

## Overview

Porting your Skype phone numbers to Quo has unique requirements, including using a standard PIN (0000) and providing your SkypeID as the account number. Skype's porting process typically completes faster than traditional carriers, usually within 5-7 business days.

## Before you begin

### Supported number types

* Local US phone numbers
* Canadian phone numbers
* North American toll-free numbers

### Requirements

* Active Skype account with the numbers you want to port
* Valid service address (US address for US numbers, Canadian for Canadian numbers)
* Workspace owner or admin access in Quo
* Desktop or web version of Quo for submitting the port request
